The Directorate of Education (Colleges) Gilgit Balistan is attached Department, facilitating and supervising the College level Education in Gilgit-Baltistan. There are 25 public sector Colleges functional in Gilgit-Baltistan and above 700 employees are working in these colleges. The Directorate of Education is dealing all service related issues of all employees .Besides this, Directorate of Education(Colleges) is dealing with disbursement of stipend to the students of GB and merit scholarships to the students of GB studying in professional institutions of the country. The DoE (colleges) also deals with the nomination of about 800 reserved seats for Gilgit-Baltistan in different institution of the country.
Now the DoE (Colleges) is also coordinating with public sector universities of the region for initiation of ADA/BS 4 years courses in public sector colleges of the country.
